So, just give it one more try to a lullaby and turn this up on the radio
If you can hear me now, I’m reaching out to let you know that your not alone
And you can’t tell I’m scared as Hell cause I can’t get you on the telephone
So, just close your eyes.
Honey, here comes a lullaby
Your very own lullaby
This song is not only awesome, it is amazingly deep if you watch the music video. It’s from last year so it’s fairly recent. I listened to this song once I got it on my iPod. This is not my lullaby, but this is one of the first things that I did. I turned on my very own lullaby. It’s a beautiful song by Bryan Adams, my favorite artist, singer/songwriter/Canadian/human rights activist etc. He wrote the song, This Is Where I Belong for the music in the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. It’s when he is looking after his whole family and he is watching the night sky, pacing back and forth as their leader. I will post the song at the end.
But as for now, here are the lyrics to This Is Where I Belong
I hear the wind across the plain
a sound so strong that calls my name
it’s wild like the river
it’s warm like the sun
yah, it’s here
this is where I belong
under the starry skies
where Eagles have flown
this place is paradise
it’s the place I call home
(the moon on the mountains, the whisper through the trees, the waves on the water)
let nothing come between this and me
cause everything I want is everything that’s here
and when we’re all together: there’s nothing to fear
and wherever I wander the one thing i’ve learned
it’s to here,
I will always always….return
The reason that I love this song so much is because it speaks to the parts of my heart that still mis home. If you have ever been homesick you know what it’s like. There are a few more reasons, though why that is my lullaby. If you clicked on the link you know how soft it is, and to hear his voice in my ears singing me to sleep, letting me know that I am home…where I belong, is special. I like when things connect with me and so should you. Aim to curl up to a song late at night that will soothe you and lull you to better dreams than before. Find something you connect with your heart.
Also, for me, that song was an anchor. My heart would know that I was in my own princess bed when that song was playing. MY father, like I said, refused to let me have a clock or radio of any means in my room. So if I heard that song playing at three in the morning and I was scared of my dad coming up there, I remembered that the only place I could hear that song is at Mom and Dan’s.
The verse that touches me is, Everything i want is everything that’s here. And when we’re all together there’s nothing to fear.
When I am with my Mom, I am safe My dad could never hurt me when she was around. I was safe with Dan and Jack peacefully sleeping in the other room I have nothing to fear. When we’re all together, there’s nothig to fear.
So, I suggest that you find a lullaby that
- Speaks to your heart
- Make it soft
- Try to use that song as an anchor
