Your Story!

Hey, y’all!

I’m collaborating now with people!! It’s a Facebook page. It’s called incest survivors of America! And I am so excited to announce that I am in communication with them…I hope that things will change and get better from here on out. I’m going to be so excited to share YOUR story, if you’ll let me! Right now a few of you are in communication with me and you know who you are.

A word of encouragement: When I first found out I was sexually abused – and even before then (during the repressed memories phase, meaning feelings mostly) – one of the first things I thought was that I was alone. Now I’m pretty young compared to some of you who are just now talking about it, but no matter when you found out, you probably felt really alone. And that no one understood! No one knew what you were going through.

And then I found blogs like this one. A woman strong enough to share her story. You may never see the impact you can have on people in this life, but my dear “friend” Matthew West (I don’t actually know him, but I love him to pieces!) has an idea and solution for this.

Jeremiah 29: 11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (ESV)

Matthew West wants you to share your story. Because it’s those stories that inspire change! Maybe prevent suicide, prevent loneliness…whatever the effect, Jesus Himself will know what impact He has for you. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you!” If you feel the slightest need to share your story, please email me. You can always change your mind and I’ll take it down. But of course, I think it’s very important.

Because let me tell you something, you’re not complaining when you share your story. Present a solution, present some hope for someone who may not have any. A poor 10 year old wanting to kill herself….like I was. My story. My story is that Jesus saved me! From everything that night. So present the solution. To say that there is hope. To say…you lived.

Every number has a name and every name has a story! What’s yours?
